About This Content One of the most innovative, efficient, and unique diesel locomotives in service on today’s US railroads is now available for Train Simulator – the CSX NRE 3GS-21B ‘GenSet'.Built by National Railway Equipment since 2006, the 3GS-21B has proven itself the most successful of the growing number of GenSet locomotives, which are distinctive in having multiple diesel engines instead of a single engine, and generator sets (thus the name GenSet), thereby reducing overall harmful emissions, fuel consumption and maintenance costs. Detailing includes ditch lights, gauge lights, cab lights, platform lights and a digital speedometer, with a characteristic start-up and shut-down of the appropriate gensets while in use to meet power demand. Also included are centrebeam flat wagons with dynamic lumber loads.The locomotive is also Quick Drive compatible, giving you the freedom to drive the CSX 3GS-21B ‘Genset’ on any Quick Drive enabled route for Train Simulator, such as those available through Steam. I have to say this is an awesome loco add-on! Really good sounds and horn and an okay bell. The cab interior is great and nicely detailed. The engine is modelled greatly with nice details. The DLC comes with one CSX Genset engine(No crew variant as well) and a centerbeam car along with three scenarios. Downside: The ditch lights aren't very bright and you have to manually turn them on with a switch and manually use a switch to get them flashing. They don't flash with the horn blown like other locos. Other than that this DLC is great!. Not a bad loco from DTG this time which is nice. Externally it's rather nice and you can tell how many of the engines are in use by looking at the exhauts to see how many lids are up with the only downside being that the headlights don't appear to be operational when switched on.In the cab it's the general setup seen on most US loco's. You get a digital speedo that is nice but out of sync with the HUD, lights that show how many engine sets currently in use, working cab signaling, adjustable ditch lights, bell can't really be heard in the cab and low speed sounds are the usual cut and paste job by DTG as i've also heard it on the Feather River Canyon and the Class 395 to list a few.Three scenarios are included but you don't travel very far and only one livery is included. I got this on sale for $5.99 but I'm still fine with it.. I LOVE THIS LOCO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I love this locomotive it looks great and the cab inside is awesome thank you very much.. Very nice engine for switching considering its designed for that job. If you have any U.S frieght map for the North Eastern U.S it will work very good. No matter if theres CSX or NS it performes with flying colors. Awsome engine amzaing feauture well worth the money. Is made better with mods from Railworks America to make the engine louder and ditchlights brighter as well as physics and the horn and bell.
